The Missouri Bombers (a division of the Texas Bombers organization) is an “A” level girls fastpitch organization based in St. Louis, MO.
Founded in 2001, this year marks our 20th year in competitive fastpitch softball. The Bombers have one mission statement and it’s the core to everything we do. In a nutshell, our mission statement drives who we are and what we do:
Our primary goal is to develop young women into highly skilled athletes that can compete for and achieve collegiate scholarships.
Yes, we want to win games and compete for National Championships, but at the end of every day, it’s about building players, increasing skills and preparing them for the rigors of collegiate softball. This is so fundamentally important to us that we have staff members dedicated to player development. We utilize specific systems to train our players and create fundamental building blocks of softball skills at every age, culminating in a player who’s ready to play at the very highest levels. This system was crafted through conversations with college coaches, consultations with MLB coaches and players, conversations with Olympic-level softball players along the experience we’ve gained in sending players to play ball in college.
Since our first senior class in 2008, we’ve assisted our graduating high school seniors find a college to play softball. Our dedicated college recruiters have long established ties with college coaches throughout the nation and you don’t have to look very far to see some major colleges involved with Bombers softball. To date, we’ve sent over 400 players to 125 different colleges across the nation to play at every level.
In 2015 the Bombers started the 4 the Heroes Foundation to honor America’s heroes. The foundations jersey awareness program has received a lot of National attention recently. Players in our program wear jerseys that have the name of fallen or severely wounded hero on the back. The teams will hold a ceremony for the family of the hero and give them a framed jersey to let them know they are not forgotten. We currently have jerseys to honor military, police and firefighters. We have plans to expand this in the future.
The Texas Bombers host 2 of the largest and most successful tournaments in the State of Texas each year. The Bomber Shootout has been held for 15 years straight in early March and hosts some of the most talented teams from multiple states. We recently sold this tournament to Triple Crown but Scott and Bo still are directors for this event. This is the first major tournament of the year and teams come to play the best of the best. The Bombers also donate a portion of each entry to Charities. With the hard work of our girls and parents we have donated over $150,000 in the last 11 years.
We also host the Exposure Weekend Showcase in the fall. This is a college showcase tournament that has quickly became the “Go To” event for many college coaches. This is an invitation only event that host the top teams in the Nation. This event has grown in popularity every year with over 80 colleges from across the country attending each year. This unique event has games coaches by college coaches on Saturday followed by a coaches social where college coaches and travel ball coaches enjoy dinner and fellowship. Sunday the teams play a round robin format.
Our Program is Nationally Sponsored by the top names in the business. Our players receive some of the deepest discounts on gear and apparel in the industry. Our Sponsors include Louisville Slugger, DeMarini, Evoshield, Atec, Ringor and Black Star Athletics
